A practical guide to different beach days near our home on Tarti Beach, from Gera Bay to the Plomari coast.
Tarti Beach — our seaside starting point.
Tarti Beach lies below green hills in the Gera area, around 34 km southwest of Mytilene according to the local tourism guide. Sand and fine pebbles meet clear sea water, and tamarisk trees grow in parts of the shore. Summer visitors may find umbrellas, sunbeds and tavernas, but facilities and opening times are seasonal. Studios Elena stands right beside this beach.
Evreiaki offers a different coastal experience on Gera Bay. The official island guide describes clear water, trees by the coast and places to eat nearby. It is not a continuation of Tarti Beach: make it a separate excursion if you want to see another side of southern Lesvos. Check the road route and opening hours before setting out.
Agios Isidoros is a pebbly beach in the Plomari area, with more organized stretches and nearby dining options in the summer season. The official visitor guide mentions changing facilities, umbrellas and showers in the main area. It takes a separate road trip from Tarti, so plan your day without assuming beach services are operating year-round.
Also in the wider Plomari area, Melinda has a pebbly shore and dramatic rocky scenery. Tourism information describes a relatively less-developed setting, though beachside businesses may offer some facilities in summer. If you go, take water, check the route and avoid relying on lifeguards or rented equipment being available.
Choose Tarti for the simplest day with the sea right outside your accommodation, Evreiaki to see Gera Bay, Agios Isidoros for an organized beach atmosphere or Melinda for a different coastal setting. Weather, roads and seasonal services can change. Ask Giorgos if you need help with arrival details. Studios Elena's three first-floor rooms are reached only by stairs; parking is at the accessible ends of Tarti Beach, followed by a walk along the shore.
